A man was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being knocked down in a hit and run following a row at a pub.
Emergency services were called to Honeys Green Lane in West Derby at around 10.30pm on Saturday, November 20, following reports of a hit and run.
The incident is believed to have happened after a row at the nearby Bulldog pub a short time before.
The victim left the pub and was walking on the West Derby road when the crash happened.
The man driving the car, described as being 'an Audi or BMW', made threats to his victim before mounting the pavement to hit him.
He received serious injuries and was rushed to hospital.
The investigation continues and police are appealing for information from people who were in the vicinity that night.
Detective Inspector Chris Saidi said: “This was a very frightening experience for the victim who needed medical treatment for his injuries, and is still recovering from it.
“Our investigation is still ongoing, and we are appealing for any witnesses or if anyone in the area might have captured the incident on CCTV or dash camera footage, or information which may assist in bringing the offender to justice.
“We will take action on all information provided to put those responsible before the courts.”
