A driver has been reported after they attempted a dangerous manoeuvre on the M60 in front of police.
The navy Ford Focus was spotted by officers from GMP's Traffic branch attempting to take a late exit off the motorway.
After realising that he'd made the stupid error, he slammed his brakes on, parked up and jumped out of his car, police said.

Pictures from the scene show the car parked across the chevrons with the drivers door open.
Live motorway traffic can be seen moving past the vehicle on both sides.
The driver of the Focus was reported, the force confirmed.
In a post on Twitter, GMP Traffic said: "This driver decided to cross the chevrons on the M60 for no reason, right in front of ME51.
"Realising his error he slammed on, parked up in front of the barrier and then jumped out of his car.
"#lateexitgonewrong? Driver reported."
A short distance away on the M60, a van went straight through a red traffic light without realising officers were behind him.
"This driver thought the red traffic lights at junction 18 #M60 didn’t apply to him," GMP Traffic tweeted.
"Completely unaware #ME11 was behind him he went straight through the red, disregarding his own safety and the safety of people exiting the adjoining motorways.
"Driver reported."
