Driver lucky to avoid injury after bunch of thugs throw rocks from M50 bridge onto car window

A Dublin driver was lucky to avoid injury after a bunch of thugs threw rocks and stones off a bridge over the M50 onto his car.

The disgusting incident happened at the bridge just before Firhouse heading northbound yesterday morning.

The shocking video of the damage has been shared across social media, and shows serious damage to not only to windshield, but the body of the car.

Fortunately, the motorist wasn't injured but the thoughtful driver was quick to warn others to be vigiliant.

Sharing the video, Wayne Kirwan warned: "Be careful if anyone driving to work on M50, this just happened to me just before Firhouse heading northbound to Airport. Lucky I was half awake bunch of lads trying to kill someone throwing rocks off bridge."

It's the third incident in less than a week involving stones and rocks being thrown at vehicles in south Dublin.

On Tuesday morning, Vandals shattered windows of all three of SuperValu, Ballinteer's delivery vans between 3am and 5am.

The vans were being used for grocery deliveries to those who must remain indoors due to the coronavirus outbreak.

And over the weekend the 75 bus, which is operated by Go-Ahead Ireland, and travels between The Square Tallaght and Dun Laoghaire, came under attack, also in Ballinteer.

A window was smashed after the bus had rocks thrown at it by heartless vandals.
