Driver left with head injury after his 'fully laden' skip lorry tips over on Ayrshire road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a skip lorry tipped over on a busy Ayrshire road.

The driver of the fully laden vehicle was left with a head injury and was rushed to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley on Saturday after the incident took place at around 12.15pm on the A736 Lochlibo Road, outside the Canny Man restaurant, Lugton.

The white Leyland Daf eight wheeled skip lorry carrying a fully laden skip was approaching the junction of the A736 and the B777 when it tipped over.

Police say the 45-year-old male driver has since been released.

Constable Gary Easton, of the road policing unit, said: “We’re appealing to anyone who has dash cam footage or who saw the vehicle either before or at the time of the crash.”

Anyone with information should contact the Road Policing Unit at Irvine via 101.
