Driver leaves trail of destruction after crashing into several parked cars on street then fleeing scene

A car crashed into several vehicles before the driver did a runner in an early morning incident.

A district nurse has been left unable to get to work after her car was hit during the crash which happened on Collena Road in Tonyrefail, near Pontypridd, at around 3.30am on Thursday morning. Paris Summer, a resident in the street, said a loud bang woke her up before discovering that her vehicle and others had been hit.

She said: "The Audi is my car, I haven't even been able to drive it yet as I'm a learner. My mother's car is the white Fiesta and she's a district nurse and not even been able to go to work this morning. It's disgusting, I hope something gets done."

Paris said her mother's Fiesta was the first car hit, before a neighbour's car was then hit, which resulted in her car rolling into a car in front. Paris added that her mother's car is a write-off and they won't know the damage on her own car until it has been sent to the garage.

The person driving the vehicle which caused the collision is believed to have run from the scene. A spokesperson for South Wales Police said: "South Wales Police can confirm that a road traffic collision occurred on Collenna Road, Tonyrefail at approximately 3.35am on Thursday, 29 ^th April, 2021. A number of stationery vehicles were damaged in the collision which involved a black Ford Fiesta.

"The occupants made off at the time of the incident. An investigation is ongoing to locate those individuals."
