Driver fled scene after crash which saw car flip on its roof

A driver fled the scene of a crash after a car flipped onto its side in Sea Mills.

Officers attended the collision on Sunny Hill Road at around 9.25 pm yesterday (Monday 5 April).

Avon and Somerset police has now launched an investigation and officers are urging witnesses to come forward.

In images posted to a local community Facebook group, the vehicle can be seen upside down across the pavement with its driver-side door flung wide open.

Another photograph captures a parked vehicle with major damage to its front passenger side wheel and bonnet.

A woman, who does not wish to be named, said: "All I know is we heard a car going up the road past Alveston walk and, I initially thought the exhaust was popping but my partner said 'no that's not the exhaust, that cars hit something'.

"He went to have a look and saw a car on its roof and another car which had been badly damaged.

"Shortly after emergency services arrived."

Avon and Somerset Constabulary said investigations are ongoing.

They have asked anyone with information about what happened, or may have dashcam showing the Seat Leon in the nearby area before the incident - to get in touch online or call 101 and quote reference number 5221072733.
