A Dublin driver who abandoned their car attempting to flee a Garda checkpoint has been caught.
Officers were carrying out the operation in Terenure when the incident happened last weekend.
The motorist refused to come to a stop at the checkpoint and in an attempt to escape, they abandoned their car on the side of the road hoping to get away from Gardai.
However, officers managed to identify the driver and court proceedings have begun.
A post on the Garda Twitter page reads: "Dublin Gardaí were performing a checkpoint in Terenure last weekend when this car failed to stop.
"The driver abandoned the vehicle a few moments later. The driver has since been identified and court proceedings have commenced."
