One man has been killed after two cars and a heavy vehicle collided near the Goulburn Rd intersection with the Kings Highway, Mulloon.
The incident occurred around 12.15pm on Thursday. The Kings Highway east of Bungendore was closed to through traffic for several hours with diversions in place at Bungendore and Goulburn Road, but Queanbeyan police reported that the road is now opening.
The driver killed was a 51-year-old male and sole occupant of a Mazda sedan. He died at the scene.
Police believe the Mazda sedan was travelling east when it clipped a westbound heavy vehicle and then veered into the path of an Audi SUV, causing the two cars to collide head-on.
The male driver of the heavy vehicle was not injured, while the male driver of the SUV - and his female front seat passenger - sustained minor injuries. A child in the back seat was not injured.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
