One driver was treated for injuries when a crash closed a main road in Southport.
Firefighters and police closed off St Luke’s Road this afternoon after a van and car crashed near the Sussex Road junction.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1pm, with traffic being diverted away towards Kensington Road.

No-one was believed to have suffered serious injuries in the crash, though the car sustained significant damage.
Pictures of the car taken by the ECHO showed a badly damaged front end, with the front left wheel knocked out of place.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said it was called to a crash involving a van and a Volvo at and that one person had been treated by paramedics.
