Driver in his 30s suffers medical episode and crashes into lorry

A driver suffered a medical episode and crashed into a lorry.

At around 12.45pm today, Thursday, May 19, officers were called to a report of a crash on Gorsey Lane in Litherland involving a blue Hyundai and a lorry. It is believed the driver of the vehicle - a man in his 30s - was taken to hospital after suffering a medical episode.

Pictures of the scene show fire and police officers in attendance. Eyewitnesses also reported seeing a cordon at the Cooksons Bridge Pub and the car was "under a HGV".

The driver of the lorry was uninjured and assisted officers with their enquiries. Gorsey Lane was initially blocked off in both directions by police but has since reopened.
