A 24-year-old Goulburn man who crashed a stolen Toyota van on the Braidwood Road last month last month has been charged with multiple offences by NSW Police.
The crash, in which the man suffered serious injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital, occurred on September 25 about 1.30pm on Braidwood Road, Tirrannaville, outside the Wakefield Park raceway, about 8km south of Goulburn. The driver was trapped in the car.
After further investigations by the Southern Region Crash Investigation Unit the man, who has since been released from hospital, was placed under arrest.
He was charged with five offences, including dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm (drive manner dangerous), negligent driving occasioning grievous bodily harm, driving vehicle under the influence of alcohol, being an unlicensed driver, and taking and driving a vehicle without consent of the owner.
He was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Goulburn Local Court on November 17.
