A driver has been taken to hospital after a crash in the Hunter Valley overnight.
Emergency services were called to Oakey Creek Road Pokolbin just before 9pm on Wednesday July 1 to reports of a car crash.
On arrival at the scene they discovered a vehicle had left the roadway and hit a power pole.
A woman was trapped inside the vehicle due to her injuries. Police Rescue, and the Cessnock District Rescue Squad worked to safely free the woman.

"Our team rendered first aid to the woman until the medical personnel arrived," a statement from the squad said.
"Due to the uncertainty of her injuries the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was also activated. Our operators assisted with manoeuvring the patient onto a spine board to where she could then be removed from the vicinity of the car to a more suitable location to be further assessed."
A NSW Ambulance spokesperson confirmed the patient suffered abdominal injuries in the crash and was taken by ambulance to John Hunter Hospital.
The woman's condition was unknown.
