Driver hospitalised after horror road smash shuts down busy Scots A9

A driver has been hospitalised after a horror road smash shut down the busy A9.

Mercy crews raced to A9 near Dalnaspidal this morning after the alarm was raised at around 7.20am.

A man was taken to hospital for treatment while police shut the road as a result.

His current condition is unknown at this time.

The road has since been reopened.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "We were called to a road traffic collision on the A9 near Dalnaspidal this morning following a one vehicle crash, involving one towing another.

"One man is being taken to hospital and the road is currently closed pending recovery."

Traffic Scotland said: "There has been a road traffic crash at around 7.18am on the A9.

"The incident happened south of Dalwhinnie and police are on the scene."
