A driver was rushed to hospital after a lorry crashed into a car while on wrong side of the road.
Dramatic photographs of the collision scene were posted on social media, showing the front of the car had been destroyed in the smash.
The accident occurred during the early hours of Sunday, (September 20), in the Mendips.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset police's special constables posted on Twitter saying: "Early hours 20/9 this HGV was on the wrong side of the road on the Mendips, the car driver blew just under the drink drive limit at the roadside.
"One taken to hospital, how this didn’t end up in a fatal I don’t know."
