Driver hospitalised after being run over in ‘road rage argument’

A driver was struck by a car after a road rage row broke out over a minor collision in west London.

Police said two drivers going along Sutherland Avenue, in Maida Vale had a minor collision at around 2.50pm on Thursday.

As they got out they began to argue leading to one of the men being hit in the leg by a car.

The driver then left the scene leaving the other needing hospital treatment.

No arrests have been made.

A Met spokesman said: “Police were called to reports of a collision at Sutherland Avenue, W9. Officers attended. At the scene a man, no further details, had suffered a leg injury after being hit by a car.

“He was taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service where his condition is not thought to be life threatening.

“The driver of the car left the scene.

“At this early stage officers believe that a minor collision had taken place followed by an altercation between the two drivers. The injured man was one of the drivers.

“There have been no arrests. A crime scene is in place at this time.”
