A driver is helping police with their enquiries after a crash in Wirral which left a man fighting for his life.

Emergency services were called to the scene in Liscard at around 12.30pm on Monday after reports of a man being hit by a car.

The crash involving the pedestrian and a red Peugeot car took place in Mill Lane, close to Parkfield Road.

The man was taken to hospital via ambulance and is believed to be in a critical condition.
