Driver has lucky escape after smashing car into side of house in Beeston

A man escaped without any injuries after crashing his car into the side of a house on street in Beeston this morning.

Malvern Road was closed after fire crews were called at 7:22am to reports of a vehicle colliding with a house.

Two crews from Hunslet and the technical rescue unit from Cleckheaton were sent to the scene as a cordon was erected.

They arrived to find a dark-coloured Audi hatchback which had received significant damage to the front of the car. A big dent could be seen in the side of the house, with a number of loose bricks crumbling away from the building.

The driver had a lucky escape though and was able to walk away from his car without any injuries, which meant paramedics and the technical rescue unit from Cleckheaton were able to leave the scene.
