Driver has lucky escape after skidding on wet leaves near Bo'ness narrowly missing oncoming cars

A driver has had a lucky escape after skidding on a pile of wet leaves in a road between Bo'ness and Linlithgow.

The accident struck at around 1pm yesterday, Wednesday December, 15, on the Flint Hills, when the car spun and landed upon a grass embankment.

The woman wasn't injured and managed to get herself out of her car.

Dramatic pictures from the scene show the vehicle badly damaged at the front with a blown tyre.

The driver has also praised the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service for their help.

A crew happened to be travelling behind her when the smashed occurred, so pulled over to assist.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "At 12.59pm on Wednesday, December 15, we were alerted to a collision involving one vehicle on the A706 between Bo’ness and Linlithgow.

"One fire engine attended the incident and firefighters assisted emergency service partners at the scene.

"There were no reported casualties and crews ensured the area was made safe before leaving the scene."
