Driver has 'lucky escape' after car smashes into M602 central reservation

A driver had a 'lucky escape' after their car smashed into the central reservation on the M602.

Police say the driver lost control of their vehicle on the motorway, near to Eccles, this morning (Friday, January 15).

Pictures from the scene showed the damage to the front of the car as a result of the crash.

However, officers say the driver escaped without any injuries.

Traffic police posted images of the damaged vehicle as they warned motorists to 'drive to the conditions'.

In a tweet, officers from Greater Manchester Police's traffic division said: "This motorist had a lucky escape this morning in these freezing conditions on the M602 Eccles.

"Walked away with no injuries after losing control on the carriageway colliding with the central reservation.

"Please drive to the conditions!"
