Driver found on M60 with one 'unstable' skip balanced on top of another

Police found a worker driving round the M60 with one full skip balanced on top of another.

Officers pulled the vehicle over in Salford on Saturday afternoon near the AJ Bell Stadium.

They found the driver had tried to save themselves multiple trips by strapping two skips full of rubbish onto a van instead of one.

In a tweet, GMP Traffic said: "Driver thought it was acceptable to strap the top skip down!

"It compressed the rubbish in the bottom slip resulting in straps loosening and load becoming unstable."

The driver was handed a £100 fine and three penalty points, police said.

Twitter followers were left shocked by the incident.

"How could anyone ever think that load is acceptable?" replied one.

"These people shouldn't be on the road putting others in danger," another added.

And another added: "Should know better if that had fell towards the pavement the result doesn’t bear thinking about"
