Driver 'forces' way through motorway closure as emergency workers deal with late night crash

Motorway police have slammed a driver who 'forced' their way through a road closure this evening.

Emergency crews are currently dealing with a collision on the M602, in Salford.

The eastbound carriageway is blocked and traffic is queuing following the crash, which happened between junction 1 M60 / M62 (Eccles Interchange) and Junction 2 A576 Gilda Brook Road (Trafford Park / Eccles).

Traffic has been held since around 10.15pm.

However, the North West Motorway Police has tweeted to warn drivers to take care when road closures are in place.

And they say a driver who forced their way through the closure measures will be "dealt with accordingly".

They tweeted: "It is not in order to force your way through a closure when Police Officers and Highways Officers are in live lanes and dealing with a serious incident, the vehicle that has done this on M602 will be dealt with accordingly."
