Driver flees scene as stolen car flips on roof after crash on Bridge Valley Road

A stolen car was abandoned after it flipped on its roof following a crash on Bridge Valley Road this afternoon (Sunday).

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the collision just before 2pm, where they found a black Audi A3 which had overturned, blocking the road.

Avon and Somerset police are now searching for the driver, believed to be a man, who fled from the scene following the crash.

It is believed that he may be injured.

Police have also confirmed the car involved in the collision was reported as having been stolen.

According to police it had been taken with the keys from the Withywood area of Bristol between 9am and 1.50pm on Sunday (June 2).

A police spokesperson added: “Officers were called to the collision at 1.50pm on Sunday, June 2.

“A black Audi A3 had overturned, blocking the road.

“A man believed to be the driver made off from the scene and police are making enquiries to trace him. He may be injured.”

Bridge Valley Road remains closed while emergency services deal with the scene and recover the vehicle.
