Driver flees scene after car ends up on its roof in Salford

A car ended up on its roof following a collision in Salford yesterday.

The incident happened on Worsley Road in Winton at around 3.30pm today on Monday (November 30).

No injuries have been reported and the driver of the vehicle is believed to have fled the scene, a spokesman for GMP said.

Pictures appear show the vehicle on its roof with debris in the road. A parked car also appears to have been damaged.

The incident, believed to have happened near the Worsley Road Car Wash, caused a block in the road which led to delays.

A spokesman for GMP said: "Police were called just before 3.30pm today (Monday 30 November) to reports that a red Renault Clio collided with a parked vehicle on Worsley Road, Salford.

"The driver of the car is believed to have fled from the scene.

"No injuries have been reported and enquiries are ongoing.

"No arrests have been made."

In a tweet, MancTraffic said earlier: “Worsley Rd, Winton by the Car Wash partially blocked by a car on its roof.

“The road was blocked for a time. Traffic slow both ways. Recovery attending.”
