Driver fined for travelling from Bury to Dundee to buy a puppy

A man was handed a fine for driving from Bury to Dundee to buy a puppy.

The driver was pulled over by police on Saturday morning for travelling unnecessarily during lockdown. (May 9)

Officers gave him a fixed penalty notice.

A spokesman for Cumbria Roads Police said: “This driver set off from Bury, Manchester this morning and travelled to Dundee to purchase a puppy.

“Again, not an essential journey.

“The driver agreed he wouldn’t have made this journey when lockdown commenced.

“Nothing has changed. Fixed penalty issued.”
