Driver fined by police over huge pile of rubbish inside his van

A van driver has been fined by police after they discovered a 'dangerous' mound of rubbish in the footwell.

A shock picture of the filthy vehicle shows crisp packets, tobacco cartons, Greggs paper bags and empty McDonald's containers piled up under the pedals.

It prompted cops to warn others about keeping a messy car on Twitter, according to Gloucestershire Live .

Patrolling Thames Valley Police officers in Marlow, Buckinghamshire, also revealed they had fined the driver and given the person penalty points in the post.

It is reported that they were also arrested over an unconnected matter.

Officers said: "A tidy cab=a tidy mind. This was so bad it was dangerous, rubbish under floor pedals."

The post attracted more than 140 comments, and one joked: "But not littering, so there is a silver lining to this messy cloud.

Another added they will "never criticise the state of my wife's car again" while others could not believe their eyes.

"That's grim. Makes my skin crawl just looking at it," one woman said.
