Driver fined after police see car strapped to back of trailer

A driver has been fined after police pulled them over for having an overweight load on a trailer - because it was carrying a car.

West Yorkshire's Roads Policing Unit stopped the trailer on the M606 near Bradford carrying a dark blue Renault car strapped to its back.

Officers discovered the trailer's load was 20 per cent over its weight limit and had no current MOT. Its load security on the car was also deemed below standards.

A photograph of the car shows two straps that appear to go through the door hinges of the motor, which is incredibly sat on top of an already full-looking load.

Sharing a snap of the offending vehicle, the unit tweeted: "This vehicle caught my eye. Found to be 20% over weight, no current MOT and inadequate load security on the car.

"Fines issued and vehicle prohibited until made safe."

The force did not reveal how much the driver was fined.
