Driver fighting for life after horror smash on Aberdeenshire road

A man is fighting for his life following a horror smash in Aberdeenshire yesterday morning.

The 29-year-old was driving a grey Vauxhall Insignia on the A90 when his car crashed close to the B9033 junction, near Crimond, just before noon.

Emergency services raced to the scene and the road at St Combs junction was closed in both directions as result, Aberdeen Live reports.

The driver was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to be treated for life-threatening injuries.

No one else was hurt in the horror crash.

Police are appealing for information into the cause of the smash as enquiries continue.

Cops have urged anyone who has dash-cam footage from the area to come forward.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers received report of a one-car crash on the A90 at the B9033 junction near Crimond around 11.20am on Friday, April 15.

“The 29-year-old male driver of the grey Vauxhall Insignia has been taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with life-threatening injuries.

"No one else was injured and enquiries into the circumstances of the crash are ongoing.

"“The road was re-opened around 6.20pm.

“Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-cam footage of the incident should call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident 1215 of 15 April.”
