Driver ends up arrested after flashing unmarked Garda car on busy Irish road

A driver got themselves into hot water after flashing a car which they didn't realise was an unmarked Garda vehicle.

After the unwise manoeuvre, the Dublin driver overtook gardai at a speed that almost saw them lose control of the car.

Gardai pulled over the driver and were greeted with a string of offences.

The motorist had no license, tested positive for drugs and no insurance.

Gardai arrested the driver at the scene and seized the car.

A garda spokesperson said: "DMR West RPU were on patrol in an unmarked car when this vehicle flashed headlights signalling for them to get out of the way.

"Driver overtook at speed, almost losing control of the car. Failed drug test, and no drivers licence or insurance, resulted in arrest and seizure of car."
