A manhunt was launched after a driver led police on a 150mph police chase on the M6 this morning.
Lancashire Police today released a picture of the stolen car, a Volkswagen Golf R, which they said officers spotted "at high speed on the M6 southbound".
Police tweeted around 3.30am that the car had been stolen from Southport two days ago.

And officers said that "after a pursuit in excess of 150mph" the vehicle was found abandoned near Wigan.
The stolen car had been fitted with false plates, police added.
As police hunt the driver anyone with information is asked to come forward.
