Driver disqualified for 30 years arrested behind wheel - and fails drugs test

A driver found themselves in hot water after being stopped by gardai and failing a drug test in Rathfarnham.

Officers from the DMR South were shocked to discover the driver had been disqualified for 30 years.

The motorist was arrested and subsequently failed the test which showed positive results for Benzodiazepines and Opiates.

They were charged and are due to appear in court.

Additionally, it was a busy week for the gardai as officers in Swords seized a vehicle on Tuesday after it was discovered that the driver had no valid CVRT or tax since 2020.

Gardai from Kevin Street issued a number of Fixed Charge Payment Notices for multiple cars parked in a bus lane on Richmond Street South.

Another motorist found themselves in trouble after being caught travelling at 193km/h in a 100km/h zone on the N7 in Naas.

They were arrested and charged for dangerous driving.
