A driver was killed after crashing into a pole Friday morning in Gresham on the South Side.
The black Volkswagen Tiguan burst into flames around 6:30 a.m. in the 7800 block of South Racine Avenue, according to Chicago police.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The person’s name hasn’t been released.
No one else was injured, according to police, who said the cause of the crash remained under investigation.
