Driver in hospital after truck crash leaves donuts strewn across yard

The stolen delivery truck crashed into the Watanobbi house.

A family of four has had a lucky escape after a stolen truck crashed into their house on the New South Wales Central Coast.

Police say a man allegedly stole the delivery truck from a service station on the Pacific Highway at Wyong, just after 11pm on Thursday night.

It is believed he lost control of the refrigerated vehicle while driving through a roundabout.

It then crashed down an embankment and into the back of the family's home in Gleneagles Place, Watanobbi.

The truck was carrying milk and donuts, some of which were strewn over the yard.

The driver sustained severe head injuries and was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

The two adults and two children inside the home were unharmed.

The truck has been towed away from the scene.

Police from the Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command are investigating the incident.

On Friday morning a spokeswoman for Northern Sydney Local Health District said the driver was in a stable condition.
