Crash involving car and van in Whitchurch

A 62-year-old was treated by paramedics after a car smashed into a parked van in Whitchurch.

Emergency services rushed to the crash scene on Bamfield, at around 6:20pm, today May 11.

A spokeswoman from Avon Fire and Rescue Service confirmed a man was freed from his vehicle before firefighters arrived.

She said: "We were called to a road traffic collision involving one car and a parked van.

"A 62-year-old man had been rescued before we got there.

" Police and ambulance were also in attendence."

A witness. who wished not to be named, told Bristol Live: "I saw a serious car accident on Bamfield Road Whitchurch, by the road work traffic lights, where they are building new houses.

"There is police, fire engines and ambulances there."

It is unclear at this stage whether the victim required hospital treatment.
