Driver could face six months in prison and €5,000 fine after being caught by gardai

An Garda Síochána issued a cutting response to one driver who was caught speeding this morning.

On the official Twitter account for the gardaí, a tweet was posted this morning about a driver who was halted by Naas Roads Policing for speeding.

They were found to be doing 123 kph in a 60kph zone.

It was then revealed that the driver was speeding because they were in a hurry to get to a courthouse.

“The driver informed Garda that they were in a hurry to Court,” the tweet said.

An Garda Síochána didn’t hold back, saying: “They earned another trip to Court and now risk losing their licence for 2 years, a €5000 fine and up to 6 months in prison.”
