Driver clocked doing 115mph on motorway and now faces a ban

The driver of a white BMW was stopped by police after he clocked 115mph on the motorway.

The eye-opening speeds happened on the M62, eastbound, between junctions 8 and 9, near Warrington.

The motorist was reported to court and North West Motorway Police said he is now facing a ban.

A spokesman said: "We have officers patrolling Merseyside and the North West Motorway network all day."
