A Park City man was charged with multiple felonies Wednesday for his role in a fatal August 2018 crash in north suburban Beach Park.

Gabriel Flores, 21, was “distracted by an electronic device” when he veered into oncoming traffic and struck a 2014 Kia Forte head-on, the Lake County sheriff’s office said. Stephanie Rojas, the 26-year-old driver of the Kia, was pronounced dead a day after the crash, and two young children in the car were injured as well.
