Driver charged after fatal Queanbeyan crash

A Kambah man has been charged over a fatal crash in Queanbeyan last year.

On Monday, December 23 a Toyota Yaris sedan and a motorcycle collided on McCrae street, near Lanyon Drive. The motorcycle rider, a 74-year-old man, had face, chest and leg injuries and later died at Queanbeyan Hospital on January 1, 2020.

The 57-year-old Toyota driver was not injured in the crash. He attended Queanbeyan Police station on May 31 where he was given a Court Attendance Notice for negligent driving (occasioning death).

He is due to appear at Queanbeyan local court on Monday, August 24.
