Driver charged after dad and kids walking family dog killed in Father's Day smash

A 47-year-old has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a man and his two children died in a horror smash on Father's Day.

David Logan is accused of knocking down and killing Joshua James Flynn, 37, his son Coby-Jay Flynn, 15, and his daughter 12-year-old Skylar Flynn.

The trio were walking together in Dalton, Cumbria, at around 2.30pm on Sunday, June 21, when the collision occurred.

Their beloved family dog Troy also died as a result of the crash.

Cumbria Police have this afternoon confirmed the man arrested shortly afterwards, David Logan, has been charged with three counts of death by dangerous driving.

Logan has been remanded to appear at South Cumbria Magistrates Court tomorrow.

A force spokesman said: "Cumbria Police have charged a man in connection with a fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Sunday June 21 on Abbey Road, Dalton.

"David Logan, aged 47, of Broughton Road, Dalton has been charged with three counts of causing death by dangerous driving.

"He has been remanded to appear at South Magistrates tomorrow.

"Emergency services were called at 2:30pm on the 21st June to the report of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle a Peugeot 206 and three pedestrians."

Officers are urging anyone who might have witnessed the incident or the vehicle in the area to come forward

Anyone with information should call 101 referencing incident 124 of 21st June 2020.
