Driver caught speeding at 92mph in a 30mph zone

Greater Manchester Police's traffic officers have issued a reminder to drivers to curb their speed after stopping a vehicle that was allegedly travelling at 92mph in a 30mph zone.

In a tweet posted in the early hours of this morning, August 4, officers said they had been carrying out checks on Paddock Lane in Altrincham and had reported several drivers for speeding, including another at 58mph.

"Today #XT54 was conducting speed enforcement on Paddock Lane (30mph) @GMPAltrincham," the tweet read.

"Several vehicles stopped at varying speeds. Including one vehicle travelling at 92mph! The roads may be quieter, but the speed limits are the same! All drivers reported."

The tweet ended with the hashtag #SlowDownSaveLives.
