Driver arrested because there so much rubbish in his van

No one likes a messy car.

When empty water bottles find their way into the passenger seat footwell, and pots of dipping sauce litter the centre console from late night fast food runs, it can be embarrassing.

But this is something else.

A driver was arrested after police spotted a 'dangerous' mountain of rubbish piled into the footwells of their cab, the Mirror reports.

Thames Valley Police Roads Policing unit tweeted a picture of the van, with the floor completely covered by food cartons, empty bags and crisp packets.

The rubbish was even piled underneath the foot pedals, with just a tiny amount of clear space for the driver's feet.

In the tweet, police said: "Stopped this in Marlow today. A tidy cab - a tidy mind.

"This was so bad it was dangerous, rubbish under foot pedals. Points on licence and fine.

"Driver was arrested for an unconnected matter."

Many Twitter users were horrified by the mess, with one commenting: "That is truly disgusting, let alone dangerous.

"I wouldn't want to get in it in fear of contracting something."

Trudie Bellamy said: "That’s disgusting, I have a moan at my hubby if there’s a few pieces of rubbish in the car."

Others took more of a lighthearted approach, with one commenting: "Jesus wept. Two minor positives, he’s obviously not littering, and he does have a balanced diet with the sugar free can on the dash.

"In all seriousness, that is beyond ridiculous."
