A driver was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated after the truck he was in overturned into the sea.
The heavy duty vehicle was travelling along the N25 between Waterford and Cork when the incident happened.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the crash which happened about 2km away from Youghal, Co Cork.
Tragedy was avoided as the tide was out when the truck overturned at around 12.30.pm on Monday.
No one was injured as the driver, 54, was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
A garda spokesperson told the Irish Mirror: "Gardaí in Dungarvan attended a RTC which occurred shortly before 2am on 6th May 2019 on the N25 at Kinsale Beg, Waterford.

"A truck left the road and entered the sea. The driver and sole occupant, a male in his fifties, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and conveyed to Dungarvan Garda Station.
"No injuries were sustained in this incident. Investigations ongoing."
