Driver arrested after failing roadside drug test in Pembroke

Pembrokeshire traffic officers say they have arrested a driver for failing a roadside drug test.

The incident happened in the Pembroke area yesterday evening (Tuesday October 12), the force said in a tweet, when the male provided a positive drug wipe for cannabis.

The motorist was taken into custody where blood samples were taken. He was released under investigation until the results of the blood samples can be analysed.

In a post on the Pembrokeshire Roads Policing Twitter page late yesterday, the force said: "Male arrested in the Pembroke area earlier this evening, for providing a positive roadside drug wipe for cannabis.

"At custody he provided blood samples, before being released under investigation, pending their analysis."

The force reminded road users wanting to report related incidents to call 999 if it is an emergency, or 101 for non-emergencies.
