A man has been arrested after a dramatic police pursuit through Wilmslow town centre.
There were reports of up to ten police cars, the force helicopter and the ambulance service on the scene this afternoon at around 2.45pm.
According to witnesses, the chase centred on Bedells Lane and ended on Hawthorn Avenue where the driver fled on foot.
Wilmslow Police later posted on their Facebook page that the man 'made off' but was 'caught shortly after by patrols'.
They also said a suspected stolen bike had been recovered.
"Attention Lacey Green residents, has your bicycle gone missing this afternoon?" they wrote.
"An incident earlier where a male decamped from a vehicle, made off from police and then caught shortly after by patrols.
"The male has acquired a bicycle along the way.
"Message us or ring 101."
