A 60-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital after a crash in the Scottish Borders.
The incident, which involved a car and a lorry, took place on the A68 south of Jedburgh around 1.30pm yesterday.
Emergency services raced to the scene and the male driver of the car was airlifted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
He is currently being treated for serious injuries.
Officers say the male driver of the lorry was uninjured.
The A68 was closed for four and a half hours as a result of the crash.
Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received report of a two vehicle crash, involving a car and a lorry, on the A68 south of Jedburgh around 1.30pm on Tuesday, 1 March, 2022.
“Emergency services attended and the 60-year-old male driver of the car has been taken by air ambulance to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries.
“The male driver of the lorry is uninjured.
"The road was closed for four and a half hours and enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing.”
