Driver airlifted to hospital as A82 closed after horror one-car smash

A man has been airlifted to hospital after a horror one-car smash shut down a busy Scots road.

Cops raced to the A82 at Tyndrum at around 9.30am on Saturday, September 18, following the collision.

A 28-year-old man, who was the driver of the car, was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. It's understood he's in a stable condition.

One woman, aged 27, was also rushed to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where she remains for treatment.

The road was shut down by emergency services for five hours amid the incident, sparking huge tailbacks.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 9.25 on Saturday, 18 September, 2021, police and emergency services were called to a one-vehicle road crash on the A82 at Tyndrum.

"A 28-year-old man, the driver of the car, was airlifted to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee where medical staff describe his condition as stable.

One woman, aged 27 years, was taken by road ambulance to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where she remains for treatment.

"The road was closed for five hours but is now open."
