A motorist has appeared in court after allegedly stealing a JCB digger and smashing it into a house and two cars before being arrested at a McDonalds drive-thru.
Mark Holmes, 55, is accused of drunkenly ramming the digger into a silver Ford Focus and a blue Ford Fiesta in a driveway outside the home in Blackwood, Gwent in south Wales.
Holmes, of Penybryn, Caerphilly, appeared at Newport Magistrates' Court facing a string of charges following the spree of destruction on November 9.
He has been accused of causing criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm against a woman, dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking and drink driving with 60 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
He allegedly caused £50,000 worth of damage.

The shocking moment the digger crashed into the house and cars has been captured on camera.
Footage filmed by onlookers shows the digger running into the Ford Focus on the driveway of the house, almost flipping it over with the digger’s bucket.
The driver can be seen holding his phone calmly behind the wheel of the JCB, the Mail Online reports.
Next, a man and woman emerge from the house.

The pair appeared stunned as they waved their hands, seemingly pleading for the driver to stop.
At one point the man bangs on the window of the cab before raising his hands to his head in despair.
A clip of the incident, spanning three minutes, was filmed by workmen parked in a van nearby.

It was later uploaded online.
A person from the van can be heard in the video, saying: “Got it all on film for you, alright mate?
“Got it all on film. F***ing d***head, what's he f***ing doing? F***ing joke.”
Another voice can be heard in the video, suggesting: “Get his registration”.
The digger allegedly drove up and down the road three times before it turned into the driveway of the house.
Holmes has been released on bail and would appear in court at a later date.
