Drive-thru coffee shop bid for new retail park moves forward

A drive-through coffee shop planned at the site of a former swimming baths has moved a step closer.

Proposals to add the signage of national chain Costa have been sent to Nottingham City Council.

The documents reveal images of a drive-through at a new retail park, on the corner of Beechdale Road and Western Boulevard.

A new Lidl supermarket is also being built, transforming the former Beechdale swimming baths site.

This is hoped to open in the summer.

The Beechdale swimming baths shut in 2015 after Nottingham City Council opened the £16 million Harvey Hadden Sports Village, which has its own swimming facilities.

The disheveled former bath house, built in the 1970s, was demolished in 2017.

The site sat empty until work began in earnest last year.

Nottinghamshire Live has contacted Costa for comment.
