Drive-in cinema launches in Bristol with films including Joker, A Star Is Born and Toy Story

A drive-in cinema which also features live entertainment including stand-up comedy and silent car discos has opened in Bristol.

Suzuki Presents At The Drive-In launched at Bristol Airport yesterday (September 9) and will be there until Saturday (September 12).

Films screened across the four days include Grease, Back To The Future, Joker, A Star Is Born, Toy Story and Lion King.

They will be played on a "top-of-the-range LED screen," with audio played through car radios.

Each screening also features interactive games and live comedy (James North)

Alongside the films there will be a number of interactive games for audiences to join in with, including 'Suzuki Dance Cam' which encourages passengers to bust a move on screen.

Suzuki has also joined forces with award-winning stand-up comedy production Jericho Comedy to enlist top comedians for each stop of the summer tour.

The line-up features performers who have appeared on the likes of Mock the Week, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You and Live at the Apollo.

To keep viewers topped up, Just Eat will be on hand to deliver food direct to people's cars from TGI Friday’s and Ben & Jerry’s as they watch the film.

Alan Crofton, organiser of At The Drive-In, said: "We can't wait for ticket-holders to experience what we have in store.

"We know many people across the nation have been eagerly awaiting a chance to experience entertainment in the post-lockdown world and we've pulled out all the stops for the ultimate drive-in experience."
