Drive-in cinema coming to Glasgow Airport next month

Gone are the days when the only thing you could watch at Glasgow Airport was planes taking off.

Entertainment is set to reach new heights -  as a spot next to the airfield gets set to transform into a outdoor cinema.

The Drive-In Cinema has announced details of its new series of events this summer - that will all take place in Paisley, right beside Glasgow Airport.

The group will host five screenings at 55 West March Road next month.

Things begin with screenings of Toy Story and The Lion King on July 21 and 22, respectively.

The week of shows also includes screenings of Grease (July 23), The Dark Knight (July 24), Braveheart (July 25) and Sunshine on Leith (July 26).

Organisers say:  "With cinemas and other arts venues unlikely to open any time soon, we thought of a way to keep you entertained in the meantime as safely as possible!

"We will be showing a mix of blockbuster classics across the weekend.

"We will be in strict accordance with Scottish Government guidance on social distancing.

"Social distancing measures will be in place between cars. You are not allowed to leave your car, unless you have to go to the toilet. There will be toilets onsite.

"The audio will be transmitted to your car via radio or bluetooth."

Finally, an exciting reason to head back to the airport!

Tickets are on sale from tomorrow at 10am (June 12) and ticket links will be available on their Facebook page.
