Eight people have been killed after a 'drive by shooter' targeted two shisha bars near Frankfurt in Germany.
Special forces have been hunting the gunman who fled in a car.
It is believed five other people have been seriously injured after the attacker struck at around 10pm local time.
Heavily armed police sealed off two streets in the city of Hanau as ambulances rushed to the scene.
One of the places targeted is the Arena Bar & Cafe while the other shisha bar is believed to be called the Midnight shisha bar.
A dead body could clearly be seen lying next to a Mercedes parked near the Arena Bar & Cafe in pictures taken at the scene.
A police helicopter was deployed over the city, 12 miles east of Frankfurt, as cops searched for the gunman.
The motive for the shootings at the shisha bars is still unclear although local sources indicate it may be gang related.
Police say the gunmen fled the scene of the attacks in a dark-coloured car.
